Faced with a considerable social security debt in a time of global financial crisis, the artist created 375 unique drawings to be sold for the price of €20 each, in order to raise the total amount required to repay her debt. Every drawing displays an intense urgency, mixing themes, styles and techniques in more or less abstract compositions that display many of the artist’s distinctive iconography and discourse. Born from necessity, the project quickly gained the attention of national media in Portugal, becoming a symbol of the struggles many people faced at that time, but also advancing a message of resilience. All the works were sold on the day of their public sale, and the artist was no longer in debt.
